Throughout history, human society has revolved around two words: "innovation" and "efficiency". Innovation drives development; Efficiency enhances productivity, thereby bringing enormous wealth to human society. Within the framework of ethical standards, a person with innovative abilities is an absolute talent for human society, the country, and enterprises; In addition to innovative talents, if a person can achieve higher efficiency within an ethical framework, work more efficiently than his/her colleagues, and possess a spirit of teamwork, then he/she is the talent of the enterprise/organization. So, how can one become an innovative or efficient talent? I think, first of all, one must have a spirit of struggle, constantly learning and practicing. Without a spirit of struggle, one cannot succeed. Under this prerequisite, to be a talent is an issue of the brain's thinking ability.
Innovative talents require two abilities: one is the ability to learn and accumulate known knowledge, and the other is the ability to explore and break through the unknown world, which is the ability to imagine. The essence of imagination is the ability of the brain to independently ask questions and think about them through surreal and multi-directional thinking. Efficient talents also require two abilities: one is the ability to learn and accumulate known knowledge, while the other is the ability to think in multiple directions. A prominent feature of the combination of these two abilities is flexible thinking, more comprehensive problem-solving, more problem-solving paths, and a higher success rate. That is to say, both innovative and efficient talents are inseparable from the ability to learn and accumulate known knowledge, as well as the ability to think in multiple directions (innovative talents also require the brain to independently ask questions and adopt surreal thinking to think about questions). In these two abilities, the former is relatively easier because knowledge is known to be real and there it is. It only depends on whether you have the interest and spirit to learn and understand it. However, multi-directional thinking ability is an invisible and intangible thinking ability, and there are not many opportunities for daily exercise of this ability. Therefore, scientific methods are requested for targeted exercise and cultivation.
Here, I would also like to remind that, from the current perspective, Artificial Intelligence is a development trend in society. Relying on a large database and constantly iterating machine learning capabilities, including supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning, machines undoubtedly have stronger learning ability than the human brain for known knowledge, and they do not forget, information seems to be able to be stored indefinitely, the error rate of complex calculation is also much lower than that of the human brain. If your job framework highly overlaps with the capabilities that machines may achieve, then you have to rethink your job. But I am still cautious about whether machines can possess symbolic illation abilities like human brains. Therefore, if parents are unsure of what kind of work will be available in society 10 or 20 years from now, then parents need to pay special attention to cultivating their children's imagination and multi-directional thinking abilities, so that our children can be more "efficient" in the future than increasingly powerful machines, and this "efficiency" must also be reflected in the level of thinking. For example, I do not believe that machines can find out the principle of wave-particle duality of light, nor do I believe that machines can find out evolutionism. Similarly, I also doubt that machines can figure out how enterprises should be managed, innovate, or even what meaningful gifts I need to give to one of my friends, machines cannot think in place. Just like John Keynes said, "Thought shapes the course of history," and all thoughts are things on the level of thinking.
So, how to cultivate multi-directional thinking ability and imagination? I think there is currently no particularly clear system or method in the world, and the whole world is exploring and thinking. But countless scientists who have made significant contributions to human society have mentioned the role of music in cultivating imagination and thinking abilities. We agree with this viewpoint, and the work of "Music Brain Science" is also carried out around this viewpoint. We hope to establish a systematic method for efficient talent cultivation, so that more people can possess this thinking ability through this method, thereby promoting the development of society. We are engaged in this interesting and exciting work.
